Oh, Paris. The City of Light, the city of romance, the city of…overratedness? Don’t get me wrong, the Eiffel Tower is nice and all, but after that, what else is there? Overpriced cafes and restaurants, surly locals, and pickpockets lurking around every corner. And let’s not forget about the smells – the city’s streets are lined with cigarette smoke and the occasional waft of urine. The metro is a maze of confusion, and good luck finding a public restroom that’s actually usable. And don’t even get me started on the crowds of tourists clogging up every sidewalk and monument. Sure, Paris has its charms, but is it really worth putting up with all the hassle? I’ll stick to my croissants and coffee at home, thank you very much.
